sumptuous The lovely thing about felt is that it can be cut to shape without fear of fraying.
I utilise this property in my small pieces and brooches.
Each brooch is made with great care and enjoyment and although I might repeat a motif or style, no two brooches are exactly the same. I have no elves, each one is stitched by me.

I make the felt.
I dye the velvet. (That's  beautiful, costly, silk velvet)
I stitch them together using gorgeous Natesh variegated rayon threads from India, via North Wales.
I have a bit of fun adding decoration in different coloured threads.
I trim.
I stiffen.
I seal.
I back with Liberty Tana Lawn Fabric.
I trim again.
I add the brooch back, and I even print, cut and fold cards on which to display them.

Then I look, and enjoy and I hope you do too.
Here are some past and present brooches.
